The intensive week on the patinas of wood is a concentrate of 4 days to learn the techniques of cleaning, coloring, pickling, aging and protection of wood.
The 4 techniques are entirely handcrafted. This will allow you to make your work unique and unrepeatable. It is designed for professionals who want to train in a complete and independent way. And also for hobbyists who want to deepen their knowledge of the techniques on wood without having to submit to the limits of pre-packaged products. The cost of the course will be amply repaid in terms of quality of the patinas, savings on products, unique results. Patina refers to a series of aging processes recreated ad hoc to characterize the piece of furniture and express its existence over time. In concrete, the patina of a piece of furniture translates into a chromatic change in the natural pigments of wood, finishes, painting, lacquer or any other material applied to furniture (gold, silver, bone, ivory, turtle etc.), abrasion of surfaces (such as the wearing of a molding or gold); to the “craquelure” that affect both the wood and the other materials of which a piece of furniture is made. The main techniques treated and learned during the intensive course will be the ones to follow. I state that the shabby technique is a basic technique of treatment and coloring of wood is very important and that anticipates all the others. The word Shabby is therefore very simplistic.
