The Arts and Crafts (English, Arts and Crafts), is an artistic movement founded by W. Morris particularly adhered to the architect C. R. Ashbee and the painter and illustrator W. Crane. The movement, which had ties with the neo-gothic current (see J. Ruskin), had above all the aim of re-evaluating the craftsmanship and the single work in respect of industrialization and mass production, which had led to the lowering of costs, but also the general expiration of taste. In addition to applied art, it also had considerable influence in architecture, especially after the first exhibition organized in 1888 by W. Morris at the New Gallery in London. It then produced that kind of house, typical of the late nineteenth century English, characterized by the simplification of style and freedom planimetric.
For my drawings for the execution of my #tessuti #printed, for the decorations of my #tappezzerie painted on #pareti #scrotate and #superfici #materiche I have always inspired him. Obviously I change some details, some details but the inspiration often comes from his works. It amuses me to think that he too lived in a house that had called the Red House, just like mine called Villa Cremisi because of its color. My #stamed #tessories often show drawings of flowers and leaves (acanthus).
My #decorated #pareti often have an ornamental motif. The only drawback? I find that sometimes the drawings are too complex and then I simplify them. The final result? Judge for yourself, I trust your judgment. 😉
